In fact, it looks like a spring blizzard from my front window. I am glad to be home quilting.
I have been dreaming about quilts, it must be all the exposure to beautiful quilts over the past weeks at MQX and Quilt Canada. Last night, I dreamed I designed a log cabin crazy quilt block with a spider web in the center block; and top stitched each seam around the log cabin. I am sure this is not a new idea, but I sure was pleased with the block of my dreams. I will have to make one to send to my daughter Marianne for the wool and silk crazy quilt she is embroidering blocks for.
I am making plans to blog post quilting patterns I dream up; and am busy taking pictures and editing the instructions. The first one I plan to post will be the mystery round robin I designed for our guild retreat in January, with a Go for the Gold theme. Stay tuned.
At Quilt Canada, I bid on and was successful in purchasing 5 unique wall hangings in the Trend Tex challenge, and am excited to show them to everyone. I plan to display them on a wall in my new studio when it is complete; to provide inspiration. Each is a unique interpretation of the artist on the theme, “The Sky’s the Limit”, using the same group of Trend Tex fabrics.
